Qualifications:
. Ability to teach and model independent living skills such as budgeting, meal preparation, hygiene, scheduling, and community access.
• Ability to follow an Individual Program Plan (IPP) and document progress accurately.
• Strong communication skills and professional conduct.
• Commitment to client dignity, human rights, and person-centered services.
• Ability to pass DOJ/FBI Live Scan background clearance.
• Valid California driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance.
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; coursework in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Education, or related field preferred.
Experience:
Minimum six (6) months of experience working with adults with developmental disabilities or related populations in community-based settings preferred.
The ability to perform the functions required in the program design:
• Ability to provide instructional, goal-oriented Independent Living Services in home and community settings.
• Ability to implement IPP objectives using person-centered practices and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with Title 17.
Job Descriptions:
Implementing program curricula.
Directly delivering individual and group learning experiences to assist each consumer served in obtaining his/her IPP objective(s) for which the vendor is responsible.
Maintaining data regarding consumer progress.
Participating in consumer assessment, planning and evaluation processes.
The program is authorized to assign staff to operate a motor vehicle for the purpose of carrying out assigned functions. The program shall assure that such staff possess a current valid driver's license which is appropriate for the type of vehicle to be driven.
Promote consumer rights, dignity, informed choice, and community integration at all times.
Follow health and safety protocols, mandated reporting requirements, and agency policies.
Duty Statement:
The ILS Instructor provides community-based, instructional Independent Living Services designed to teach, model, and reinforce functional skills identified in the consumer’s IPP. Services are goal-oriented, time-limited, and focused on increasing independence, self-determination, and successful community participation in accordance with Title 17 regulations
